Defended German Indoor SUP Champion title

27.01.2015 20:39

1st place at the boat show in Düsseldorf

I did it again! Stoked to win the German Indoor SUP Championship 2015 on the Naish Inflatable with a comfortable 7sec lead! It was a great boat show / watersports fair and it was awesome to meet lots of nice people and spread the SUP spirit to the visitors (especially to the sailing world as cross-training or fun equipment on their yachts)…

Semi-final
Final
Together with the Mens Champion Normen Weber!

The official "BOOT" recap:
(unfortunately only in GERMAN!)

1st place German SUP Wave Championships 2014

04.12.2014 15:23

Stoked to finish 1st upon my first appearance at German SUP Wave Championship in "Cold Hawaii" (Klitmøller/Denmark)!

Arriving at last moment coming from "warm" Hawai´i after 30hrs of traveling to Germany and 5hrs driving up north we went straight onto the water into the first heat. Considering the time change of 12hrs and the temperature drop of 20ºC it felt a little bit like hard work rather than pure fun… Glad that it still did work out and rounded up my successful season… Thanks to my family for supporting me throughout this amazing SUP year!

N1SCO Naish One Design World Championship 2014

20.09.2014 20:43

DAY 1 of the N1SCO Naish One World Championships: Sprints
After a good first heat

I got pushed into the water after the start of the second heat… Next heat: another unfair action of the same paddler - in football these behavior would mean a "red card"!

DAY 2: Long Distance and Team Relay inspired by Olympic heroes

Recovered and focused I had a good 11,5km Long Distance Race and won the fair battle against Valerie Vitry for 3rd place.

Swapping jump skies / snowboard for Naish ONE board Gregor Schlierenzauer (GS) and Sigi Grabner Snowboarder showed amazing talent and added up perfectly for the most charming but not most successful team also including Manca and myself (supported by Robby Naish)…

German SUP Challenge Pelzerhaken 2014

08.09.2014 22:11

1st place Pelzerhaken and Overall TITLE German SUP Challenge 2014

VICTORY at the distance race at the last tour stop of the German SUP Challenge in Pelzerhaken.
Starting at the Naish Pro Center "Sail and Surf" for the 5.5km course…
…in warm and sunny conditions with a little breeze in the back. I got a quick start and turned around the first mark in 1st position (women) / 5th postion (overall).
I felt comfortable on my Naish Javelin LE 14´ x 23´´ on the upwind leg and could also bigger my margin on the other girls on the downwind course towards Neustadt.
Happy about my 1st place at the last tour stop of the German SUP Challenge.
Also super stoked for my brother who came in 15th place in the men´s division and my dad Frithjof who finished 5th.

Stand Up 4 Kids Charity-Teamrace 2014

18.08.2014 14:31

Paddling for a good purpose in a team relay to raise money from team sponsors to enable kids who suffer from cancer to enjoy the ocean in a surfing therapy.

Together with 15 other teams we (my dad Frithjof, Lenni Schulenburg and myself) had lots of fun on our Naish ONE Inflatable on the "Kieler Förde" during the sprint relay around the triangle course.

Lots of nice people and a very relaxed atmosphere rewarded for paddling in rather fall than summer conditions… Thanks to Chiemsee and the organizers.

Rome SUP Challenge and European Cup

31.07.2014 13:43

1st place European Cup & 3rd place overall Stand Up World Challenger Series Rome

Last weekend we had a phenomenal stop of the Stand Up World Challenger Series and last stop of the European Cup in Santa Severa/Italy near Rome.
After a little thunderstorm on Saturday morning we had the Sprint Races with a little bit of waves. In three heats we paddled out our overall sprint results where I finished 3rd.

On Sunday we had the Long Distance Race with 20knts wind, waves and a super awesome closed M-course we had to round 4 1/2 times. It was all about standing up and paddling hard, but also about downwind knowlegde. With a 3rd place in the Long Distance I finished overall pro women 3rd.

With my WIN in Finland, my 5th place in Fehmarn/Germany and my 3rd place in Rome I won the European Cup in the Womens fleet with my team mate Casper Steinfath winning the mens title!

Camp David SUP World Cup Fehmarn 2014

22.07.2014 14:52

3rd place in the Sprints

On Day 1 I was in the Charity relay with Germanys famous Hollywood actor Götz Otto and two other guys. It was great to introduce them into SUP racing. We were a great team and had lots of fun on the Naish ONE, although we weren´t the fastest team.

Day 2: Sprints - In choppy, windy conditions I felt super comfortable on my Naish Javelin LE 12´6´´ x 24´´. After three Sprints and three 3rd places I´m pretty stoked to finish 3rd in the sprints!

Day 3: Long Distance Race of the CAMP DAVID SUP World Cup we started in Staberdorf with a 1k sidewind leg out,

then turning into an awesome 4k downwinder towards the event site. Arriving there on 3rd place we had to turn around

and fight upwind against 25knts wind! This 2.5k triangle we had to round two times. After the first brutal upwind leg and the shorter sidewind leg I couldn´t recover enough on the downwind course to do this a second time. So I had to quit after 7.5k (still in a comfortable 3rd position)…

Thanks to ACT AGENCY, in particular Matthias Neumann, Camp David & the other event sponsors and the Watermanleague for making this terrific event happen! Also thanks to my sponsors Naish Stand Up PaddlingNaish Germany, Maui Ultra Fins, 2XU, Prolimit and to my parents for always supporting me! Congrats to my Naish teammates Kai Lenny, Casper Steinfath and Carla Schellart.

German SUP Challenge Kühlungsborn/Baltic Sea

14.07.2014 22:17

Winning the Beach Race

Last Saturday we had the 3rd tour stop of the German SUP Challenge taking place in Kühlungsborn/Baltic Sea.

With waves, a little bit of wind and a great 4-buoy-course it was a super fun beach race competition.

Leading the women´s fleet from the beginning,

I could bigger the margin throughout the race especially on the downwind leg

and on the last leg by riding a nice wave to the finish on the beach.

My dad finished 5th after a great performance in winning his first heat pretty solid.

We felt very comfortable on our Javelin 12´6´´ x 24´´ LE.

Great location with lots of spectators on the beach and the promenade…
